Filmmaker and photographer Eugenia Montiel Pagés has built a solid career as a film producer, focused in recent years on author-driven documentary, while also producing fiction features, shorts, music videos, TV series and commercials.

She produced In the Pit (2006) –winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Best International Documentary at Sundance and the most awarded Mexican documentary of the year–; Must Be Why (2010), Diary of a Chef (2012); One Hundred Years with Juan Rulfo (2017) and Once Upon a Time (2018), all directed by Juan Carlos Rulfo.

Eugenia has also stood out as production coordinator on the award-winning Aro Tolbukhin, in the Mind of a Killer (2002), directed by Isaac-Pierre Racine, Agustí Villaronga and Lydia Zimmermann, executive producer of the documentary Finca (2009) with Natalie Portman, and associate producer of Matria (2014) by Fernando Llanos, winner of Best Documentary at the Morelia International Film Festival.

For many years she has been a creative-production instructor at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC México), and she runs a project-development lab for producers.
