Documentary, portrait and landscape photographer and a regular collaborator on La Media Luna's productions, Ana Lorena Ochoa Schöndube studied at the Escuela Activa de Fotografía and at the International Center of Photography in New York. She has taken part in solo and group exhibitions and has worked for outlets including Reforma, Milenio, Cuartoscuro, Viceversa, Gatopardo, Expansión and Revista de la Universidad de México.

In 2010 she published the book Zafra, a photo essay on sugar production, and in 2012 Ciudad concreto, about the workers on the second deck of Mexico City's Periférico — the result of her collaboration as still photographer on Juan Carlos Rulfo's documentary In the Pit.

She has also contributed to the collective books Infancia (2001), 160 años de fotografía en México (2004), Those Who Remain (2008) and to the exhibition Mujeres detrás de la lente. 100 años de creación fotográfica en México 1910-2010, at the Arocena Museum.

Ana Lorena won first place at the 2nd Photojournalism Biennial in Mexico for her work Manos a la obra, on the making of the sculpture “Daphne” by the Mexican artist Juan Soriano. In 1999 she received an honorable mention at the 3rd Photojournalism Biennial for her photo essay Los caminos de Rulfo.
